The term IoT, or Internet of Things, refers to the collective network of connected devices and the technology that enables devices to talk to each other, or the cloud. The Internet of Things integrates everyday “things” with the internet.

With more than 10 billion connected IoT devices today, the figure is expected to reach 22 billion by 2025. We are surrounded by IOT without even realising it. IOT has infiltrated into every aspect of life from app based cab services (Ola, Uber), location based advertising, online maps and directions (Google) and ordering food online (Swiggy). IoT applications are also defining the future of real time treatments in health care.

In this course students will educate the students about how fundamental laws of science are used to create IOT applications. They will learn how sensors like motion sensor, echo sensor, moisture sensor etc are designed using the fundamental principles of Physics, for instance, using reflection or refraction of light in a light sensor.

By learning and practicing a 5-step process of logical problem-solving using technology, the student will be able to go beyond what he/she is learning now and be empowered to deal with a variety of situations. They will also develop a hands-on approach sorely lacking int schools today

It is almost as if she will jumpstart her education and future afresh.

** Academic Connect**

- Students are going to develop simple IOTs applications using laws of Physics –Electricity, resistance, conductivity, ohms law, Flemings law, solenoid, electromagnetism, Light and sound spectrum – reflection of sound / light

**IOT applications**

- They will learn to develop 5 real life applications such as Home security solution with motion sensor, automated door openings, smart lights, smart agriculture and for road safety for the driver of a vehicles.

Science true power is in integration of various streams. MRI machines are based on Physics but used primarily in biology and medicine. The COVID vaccine is based on bio-technology and chemistry implemented in the area of medicine.

**IOT Level 2** builds further on the basics of IOT – with more complex problems being solved and exploring expansion from Physics and electronics into Chemistry and biology..

Students will learn more complex sensors and the scientific concepts they are based on like properties of gas, pH levels, and even, oxygen levels in blood and heart beats.

By extending the practice of the 5-step process of logical problem-solving using technology, the student will be able to be empowered even more to deal with a variety of situations. While knowledge and practice of IOT will take you forward, robotics along with IOT provides an unbeatable combination.

**Academic Connect**

- Students are going to develop simple IOTs applications using laws of Physics –Light (visible and invisible), Conductivity , electro-magnetism, Beer and Lamberts law - Amount of light absorbed is proportional to the concentration of the light absorbing substance, Haemoglobin and its Oxygen carrying ability, Rate of heart beat/ Oxygen content

**IOT applications**

- They will learn to develop 5 real life applications such as home safety, breath analyzer, oximeter, gesture controlled lights etc

It is about creating/ building mechanical structures that can perform tasks (Like sweeping the streets of Delhi or picking up loads more efficiently).

The new World Robotics 2020 Industrial Robots report shows a record of 2.7 million industrial robots operating in factories around the world. And in 2022 584,000 robots will be shipped to various parts of earth. This shows a growing need for people who are trained in robotics.

This course helps the child embark on a journey of exploring how to create and build robots that reinforce and apply concepts that he/ she has learnt in school whether it be simple machines, force and motion, while also looking at renewables.

** Academic Connect**

- Laws of Physics – Force, torque, mechanical advantage, work done, Newton’s first law (transformation of energy), Potential energy, Kinetic energy and Pneumatics
- Mathematical concepts – Ratio, angle (of blades to get maximum air movement), surface area etc.

- They will learn to develop 6 to 8 real life applications such as Click Clock, Wind mill, Hydro power, solar power, Sail boat using gears, pulleys & levers

This course helps the student build on the foundation of robotics created with Robotics 1. They will explore further on making robots capable of more complex actions. They will be able to program the robot to detect an object ahead, follow a path, plot a path through a maze and remember it, etc and possibilities of action beyond that. These robots have real world uses.

While knowledge and practice of robotics will take you forward, robotics along with IOT provides an unbeatable combination.**Academic Connect**

- Sound, Distance and speed calculations, 3 dimensional movement / displacement hence velocity/ acceleration, Right hand rule of torque and angular momentum – gyroscopic movement

**Robotics Applications**

- They will learn to develop 6 to 8 real life applications such as line following robots, maze solver, a robot that remembers the way, a live streaming robot and even a gesture-controlled robot

It brings technology into the art and science of product design. Using mathematical concepts like volume, 3D geometry etc and combining creativity with logical problem solving, product design is given a new dimension. This is translated into 3D printing– the future of manufacturing, giving our young designs a jumpstart to the science of design itself. Here too, they learn and practice out step-wise process of logical problem-solving using technology,. It is almost as if she will jumpstart her education and future afresh.

Overview:**Academic Concepts**

3D Printing - volume, area, cartesian system, preimeter, angles and dimensions, shapes, number system, axis of symmetry, properties of triangle, vertices and edges, parallel and perpendicular lines, pythagoras and midpoint theorem.Students use maths concepts like volume and area, dimensions and create 3D**Applications:**

They develop applications in the areas of-

- Health
- Fashion
- Architecture
- Interior design - joints
- Bottle cap– consumer goods

Students apply deeper mathamatical and physics concepts to create more complex and advanced objects. In this course their logical thinking and product designing perspective is enhanced. This course helps them to create products from designing point of view such that they achieve desired output with the help of given information, by using same information students can create different objects using logical thinking. Here too, they learn and practice out step-wise process of logical problem-solving using technology.
